Wulfen stared for an eternity at the Holonet reciever which was broadcasting the attack on Coruscant. The Yuuzhan Vong had, actually, attacked the heart of the galaxy, the capital of civilization itself. What could have possessed them to go through with a tactic that would claim so many lives, including their own? What kind of heartless beings? That was it. Wulfen had had enough of this neutrality, it was time to act and it would be swift and devastating for the Yuuzhan Vong.

He left his private quarters as quickly as he could without causing any panic within the housing units. At his waist, two lightsabers hung, one was curved to accommodate his mastery of the Makashi form and the other a slightly longer and straighter lightsaber hilt.

He arrived at the military command as the sun began to set in the northern horizon. He hoped that there would still be beings in the command building. The command building itself was a huge building made of natural stone that was abundant on the planet [insert name here]. It glittered with light from the setting sun and it glowed with warmth. The outside was a beautiful display of craftmanship but inside was a different matter. As Wulfen entered the building two humans greeted him as they bowed out of his way but he stopped them short of walking away.

"You two guards," he said, "Notify all members of the War Committee and Defense Authority to meet now, immediately." Wulfen stressed the word 'immediately' to make the two guards hurry.

"Yes sir, General Skye." They said before rushing off in two different directions.

Within the hour, members of both parties were beginning to arrive in the main chamber in the middle of the building. Wulfen pasted back and forth, frequently looking at the holoprojector in the room, which was displaying the fall of Coruscant. He was still sick to his stomach as he watched the city in ruins, fires burning, bodies, dead and charred and the sky appeared to be on fire from the thousands of ships destroyed during the invasion.

"As some of you may know within the last few hours, the Yuuzhan Vong have attacked Coruscant and have succeeded in occupying the planet surface. Thousands, no perhaps millions are dead and countless more are still trapped on the planet surface. And..."

He was cut off by a Trandoshan member of the Defense Authority. "General Skye, what about the New Republic? What about the New Republic Defense Fleets?"

Wulfen turned to him. "The New Republic Defense Fleets? The fleet is in ruins above the planet. The small number of remaining ships have left the battle and have gathered in key planets in the Inner Core to help defend them from the Yuuzhan Vong. And for the New Republic. That government is dead."

"Impossible! The New Republic could not fall apart that easily. It had support from numerous systems and organizations! Chief of State, Borsk Fey'lya', would not have..."

"Borsk Fey'lya' is dead. We have received confirmation of his death. He died gallantly on the planet. The New Republic, like the Old Republic, failed as a government because of the corruption in the Senate and its lack of military planning." he said walking towards the center of the room.


"Now hear me, these Yuuzhan Vong are beings without souls. They come to conquer and enslave us. Will we let them? No, we will not! At first, my council recommended that we stay neutral in this war, that we defend our own borders against the invaders. I stood by the council's decision, thinking that was a wise choice, but now I think it was a horrible thing to do. Horrible, because we watched our brothers, our sisters at war with a species bent on destroying everyone in our galaxy. But now as I see the planet Coruscant under attack, I know that these Yuuzhan Vong do not have any boundaries! They do not know any end. No mercy. No pleading. What makes you think that they will not attack us here? If they attacked the home planet of civilization itself, they will attack us if they are not stopped! Countless more lives will be lost if we do not intervene and ally with what is left of the New Republic. I was wrong before but this time we shall make it right! For our brothers. For our sisters. For our families. For our galaxy!" he was nearly shouting at the end over the roar of agreement.  

"I ask you now, to vote me the powers I need to declare war on the Yuuzhan Vong. I will personally lead our forces into battle. Our soldiers are willing to fight for peace. Our Jedi will fight also, to help clear these beings in the name of the Living Force. And I need you, honorable delegates, to vote me the rank of Supreme Commander of the Confederacy Remnant!"
